Day 14 Dogtober - FREE Ranga (Tensura) Pattern

 

For today's Dogtober post we have another free pattern, this time for Ranga from That Time I Got Reincarnated As A Slime! It is one of my favourite shows, this design is based on his Tempest Wolf design. If you've noticed a lot of these patterns have the same base to them, you can take a look at my pattern for Palamute for some photos. As always my patterns are written in US crochet terms.

Materials:

• Medium weight yarn in navy, cream and white.
• Crochet hook, I used a 3.25mm.
• Fabric Glue
• Black permanent marker.
• White, black, navy, green, and yellow felt.
• Stuffing or scraps to stuff with.

Body:

In navy.
1: MR (6)
2: INC x6 (12)
3: (1SC, INC) x6 (18)
4: (2SC, INC) x6 (24)
5-6: 24SC (24)
7: (2SC, DEC) x6 (18)
8: 18SC (18)
9: (2SC, INC) x6 (24)
10: 24SC (24)
11: (2SC, DEC) x6 (18)

Stuff
13: DEC x6 (6)
Finish off and close up.

Feet x4:

In white.
1: CH5 then turn and work in a round
2: SC3, SC3 in 1 chain, SC3 (9)
3: BLO SC9 (9)
Change to navy.
4: 2SC, (BLO DEC) x2, 3SC (7)
5-7: SC7 (7)
Finish off leave tail for sewing

Neck:

In navy.
1: CH12, connect each end and work in a round.
2-3: SC12 (12)

Neck Floof (x3):

In white.
1: CH11
2: 1SC, 1DC, CH2, SC1 into 1st CH, 1DC, x 3

Head:

Start in white
1: MR (6)
2: INC x6 (12)
3-5: SC12 (12)
6: FLO in blue, (1SC, INC) x3. In both loops: In white, 1SC, INC, in blue 1SC, INC, in white 1SC, INC (18)
In navy for the rest.
7: (2SC, INC) x6 (24)
8-9: SC24 (24)
10: (2SC, DEC) x6
11: (1SC, DEC) x6 (12)
Stuff
12: DEC x6 (6)

Ears x2:

 

In navy

1: CH5, turn
2: SL, 1SC, 1DC, 1TB finish off.

Horn:

 

In cream.

1: CH6, turn
2: SL, SC, HDC, DC, TB, CH1 turn

3: SC4, SL finish off and sew both sides together to make a horn.

 

Tail:

 

In navy.

1: CH2

2: INC (2)

3: SC2 (2)

4: SC2 (2)

5: SC1 INC (3)

6: SC3 (3)

7: SC3 (3)

switch to white.

8: SC3 (3)

9: DEC, SC1 (2)

10: SC2 (2)

11: DEC (1) Finish off.

 

Assembly:

• Stitch neck to head, neck to body then neck floof.
• Attach the ears, legs and tail.
• Cut out navy star from felt  and glue it on as well as inner ears.
  
• Glue horn on top of star. 
• Make eyes and nose out of felt and glue them on.
• Wrap legs with narrow strips of green felt.
  
• Draw on a mouth with marker, or not I didn't feel like it.
